The Flinestones “Fred” Nike Dunk
Adding a bit of nostalgic cartoon spunk to their lineup, Nike works up a new pair of their Big Nike’s, inspired by the Hanna-Barbera classic, The Flintstones. In what could possibly be just one sneaker out of a bigger pack, these Big Nike’s follow the color scheme closely associated with the man of the house, Fred Flintstone. The kickss feature a mostly white base with blue accenting to reflect Fred’s tie and a pattern showcasing Fred’s outfit, although not as precise as the original. Nike bone lettering on the heel caps off an interesting arrangement from the sportswear brand. Stay tuned for release details as they become available. Available now at Osneaker.
NeighborhoodXCOMME des GarconsX Stussy
To mark the recently opened MEDICOM TOY Exhibition ‘09, a series of co-branded t-shirts were created involving some of Japan’s most respected streetwear and fashion labels. Among the contributing brands were heavyweights such as Stussy, NEIGHBORHOOD, COMME des GARCONS and TMT. The Stussy version also had an added element of incorporating references to Ren & Stimpy, a collective they’ve also partnered together on for a separate t-shirt offering.

Visvim FBT – Folk Red
As part of the latest batch of FBT LHAMO-FOLKs, Visvim unveils a bold and brightly executed red version of their iconic hybrid moccasin sneaker. The red colorway is among the recent color schemes which has come to mark a more liberal and diverse palette of colors. Aside from red, other bright releases include orange and yellow. Perhaps even hotter than the “Fred” version from The Flintstones inspired pack are these Nike “Dino” Big High sneakers. Here’s what More Say had to say about these shoes.

Following up on the announcement of 11 new store openings for June 2009, COMME des GARCONS unveils their new BLACK space at Dover Street Market in London. The temporary installation is just one of the many concessions that will open this month, including six in Japan, one in Seoul and Hong Kong, and two new stores in Paris and New York. The collection featured within COMME des GARCONS’ BLACK campaign will feature limited editions designs done by Rei Kawakubo as an “emergency reaction to the recession”, over a period of 18 months.

A month ago, we reported on a collaboration between Sorayama Hajime and Kaws on a new Companion. Just recently, the Original Fake website was updated with a new image of the figure, which measures 33 cm tall, and weighs 3 kg. It should retail for around $1000. Stay tuned for more details.

COMME DES GARÇONS has just been surprising us with news this month! After the news on temporary line, COMME DES GARÇONS BLACK, and a new accessories collaboration with Medicom Toy’s BE@RBRICK, the label has just moved into Colette’s lower mezzaine level with its new Fall/Winter 09 line, SHIRT. SHIRT taps into the inner planet-loving dorks in us with a range, GEOGRAPHY. The new range of items includes t-shirts featuring a variety of photographs and prints from National Geographic magazine such as red blood cells, astronaut and an x-ray of a frog. Along with the shirt collection are items from COMME DES GARÇONS SHIRT PARFUM, wallets, and a special pink leather python tote created exclusively for Colette. This collection won’t last long as it will only be available starting today, Jun 22, through Aug 1.
